Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Detox Technician to join our team at Delco Detox Center. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping individuals overcome challenges of chemical dependency, addiction, and relapse prevention. Also, improving their mental well-being through various supportive peer and clinical interventions that will assist with the population affected by chemical dependency, mental illness, and other behavioral health conditions.
Detox Technicians' Responsibilities
- Feeling comfortable building rapport with clients that are part of population considered to be a minority group.
- Completing Intake Process which includes Search and Seizure; Onsite Drug Testing; Taking Vital Signs; Documentation; and Communicating with staff and management of findings or concerns.
- Observing clients during shift hours and interacting with the clients.
- Redirecting Clients to go to group sessions, individualized sessions, medication passes, eating meals, outings, and other interpersonal needs.
- Collaborate with other disciplines/professionals (Case Managers, SUD Counselors, Nurses, Technicians, Medical Providers, Directors, and/or Billers) regarding Clients presentation, flags, treatment plan, aftercare plan, interventions, documentation needed, and etc.
- MUST HAVE RADT, SUDRC and/or CA approved credential pertaining to these in order to be able to facilitate group therapy sessions and also, assist with observing medication self-administration during medication pass.
Skills
- Building Rapport with Clients for Peer Support and Comfortability
- Knowledge of Addiction Process, Relapse Prevention, and Chemical Dependency Symptomatology
- Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and Level of Care Requirement for Inpatient DTC and RTC
- Knowledge and experience in using EMR/EHR (specifically KIPU) for documentation purposes
- Awareness of Culture and Diversity Sensitivity
- Punctuality, Time Management, and Positive Attitude
- Able to work independently as well as a team player
- Maintain Ethical Code of Conduct and Ethics as a professional in any setting.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education:
- Some College
- Associates Degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Services, Human Services
- Addiction studies courses and/or schooling will start, in process, or about to graduate
Required Credential(s):
- Registered Alcohol Drug Technician (RADT) through CCAPP
- Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor (SUDRC) through CADTP;
Interim Certification:
- Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCRMA) through CCBMA, NHA, AAMA;
- EMT-B through NREMT;
- Life/Wellness Coach through Board that the State of CA approves.
*these credentials are acceptable for the meantime with the agreement to acquire one of the required credentials.
Preferred Credential(s):
- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor I/II (CADC I/II) through CCAPP
- Qualified/Certified Mental Health Specialist (QMHRS/CMHRS) through CCAPP BHC
- Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) through CADTP.
"these credentials will help transition the Detox Technicians or Behavioral Healthcare Technician into another role after probation period has ended.
Required Documents Upon Hire or within 30 days:
- Must provide TB negative skin test result within the last 12 months or negative chest x-ray
- Must be CPR/First Aid Certified within 30 days of hiring date
- Medical Clearance Form completed by the candidate's PCP or other provider.

Services Rendered
We are a 24-hour, 7 days a week opened inpatient treatment center that offers Detoxification Treatment Care, Residential Treatment Care, and Aftercare Support and Connectivity. We work with clients struggling with chemical dependency primarily and are coming into our care for withdrawal management from Fentanyl, Heroin, Benzodiazepines, Alcohol, and other illicit or prescribed abuse drug. We serve populations that also suffers from mental illness (also Co-occurring Disorders), those who listed into the military (Veterans), those who are part of the LGBTQ Community, and any other hardship that many people struggle in these times.
We are a 6 bed, co-ed detoxification program with various professionals assisting our clients overcome this challenging and horrific part of their lives. We have nurses, therapists, counselors, case managers, detox/behavioral health technicians, and also medical providers that offer care to our clients. Treatments used in our facility is Taper Protocols, MAT if approved, medication education, individualized therapy sessions, case management, self-help meetings outside of treatment, and aftercare assistance.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
