Abatement Technician Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Abatement Technician to work on asbestos abatement and industrial maintenance projects while adhering to company policies, health and safety protocols, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field work related to asbestos abatement under direct or indirect supervision.
- Accurately complete all job-related documentation, including timesheets, daily work reports, driver logs, and safety meeting forms.
- Understand project scopes and ensure compliance with contract requirements, schedules, and corporate procedures.
- Maintain strict safety practices at all times while on the job site.
- Work in confined spaces and varying dimensions that may require crawling, squatting, or other physical demands for extended periods.
- Follow verbal and written instructions; must be able to read, speak, and understand English and safety signage/literature.
- Safely operate and conduct safety checks on licensed vehicles.
- Be available for out-of-town travel for extended periods (2 weeks, if required).
- Work in all types of weather conditions throughout the year.
- Perform duties in challenging environments, including exposure to heat, cold, hazardous materials, heights, loud noise, and heavy equipment.
- Regularly engage in physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, crouching, lifting (50 lbs), and using hands and tools.
- Must remain clean-shaven to ensure a proper fit and seal for respirator use.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with asbestos abatement projects.
- Experience in related fields such as emergency response, general construction, manual labor, or industrial cleaning is a plus.
- Must hold a valid 32-hour Abatement Worker Certification.
- Valid driver's license required.
- TWIC card preferred.
- Additional certifications such as OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and Lead Awareness are desirable but not mandatory.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment background and substance screenings (including employment verification, criminal history, and driving record), and maintain compliance throughout employment.
