What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Supervisor position at Delectus, LLC?
The Abatement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing remediation and industrial maintenance projects, ensuring full compliance with health and safety protocols, internal policies, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute field work related to asbestos abatement under direct or indirect supervision.
Supervise assigned labor crews, including foremen, equipment operators, hazardous waste technicians, and emergency response teams, ensuring effective and safe job performance.
Accurately complete all project-related documentation, including timesheets, daily work reports, driver logs, and tailgate safety meeting forms.
Enforce project scope and ensure adherence to contract requirements, schedules, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with project management to efficiently allocate personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors, minimizing costs and maximizing profitability.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety and ensure team compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
Work in confined spaces and varying physical positions, including extended periods of squatting or crawling.
Comprehend and follow instructions; understand and communicate in English; interpret danger placards, safety literature, and site safety plans.
Operate and inspect assigned vehicles safely and effectively.
Be available for out-of-town travel for extended periods (e.g., two weeks or more) based on project needs.
Adapt to varying physical and environmental conditions, including work outdoors year-round and in extreme environments (e.g., heat, cold, heights, hazardous chemicals, noise, and long hours).
Perform physically demanding tasks, including prolonged standing, walking, crouching, hand use, and lifting up to 50 pounds or more.
Maintain a clean-shaven face at all times to ensure proper respirator fit and usage.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required.
2–3 years of supervisory experience in abatement projects.
Additional experience in emergency response, general labor, construction, or industrial cleaning preferred.
Must hold a valid 40-hour Abatement Supervisor certification.
Valid driver’s license required.
TWIC card preferred.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and Lead Awareness certifications are a plus.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, with ongoing compliance required for continued employment.
