Job Summary
Are you ready to make a difference in environmental safety? We are seeking a motivated Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our team, specializing in asbestos abatement and industrial maintenance projects. You will play a vital role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with strict health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos abatement tasks on-site, under supervision, following project guidelines and safety protocols.
- Accurately complete required documentation, including timesheets, daily work reports, driver logs, and safety meeting forms.
- Follow the detailed scope of work for each project to ensure adherence to contracts, schedules, and corporate policies.
- Maintain safety standards during all project phases and comply with site-specific safety plans.
- Work in confined spaces or areas of varying dimensions, involving physical activity such as squatting and crawling for extended periods.
- Safely operate vehicles, performing safety checks as required.
- Ability to travel for project work, which may require extended stays (two weeks or more).
- Work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions and challenging environments (extreme heat, cold, hazardous chemicals, heights, and loud noise).
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds or more.
- Maintain a clean-shaven face to ensure proper respirator seal when needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in asbestos abatement or related fields such as emergency response, manual labor, general construction, or industrial cleaning.
- Must have 32-hour Abatement Worker’s certification.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- TWIC certification preferred.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, and Lead Awareness certifications are a plus but not required.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, substance screening, and ongoing employment verifications.
