Interns are a valuable resource to DeLeon & Stang CPAs & Advisors. They are treated like first-year staff and have the opportunity to work on a variety of audit engagements under the supervision of an Audit Senior, Principal or Partner. You will gain practical experience in a number of industries including: not-for-profit, employee benefit plans and credit unions. We are currently seeking audit interns for the 2025 Spring season (January-April) for our Frederick office location to serve our clients in the Frederick/DC I270 Corridor. We look for students or alumni who are able to work at least 20 to 30 hours per week. We seek energetic and motivated students who are interested in honing their skills to pursue a career in Accounting post-graduation.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing work papers and other tasks as assigned by engagement lead.
Assist with internal control testing for various industries.
Assist with a drafting audit documents
Communicate with engagement senior, principal or partner to discuss client matters
Meet client service expectations through adhering to time budgets and maintaining positive communications
Gain an understanding of Firm policies, procedures, and professional standards through observation, inquiry and adherence to them
Demonstrate positive attitude towards the Firm and profession
Attend training workshops when available.
Maintain confidentiality of the firm and client information.
Develop working knowledge of software programs.
Demonstrate professional etiquette and develop efficient work habits.
We hope that the internship experience will lead to an increase in confidence and professional skills as well as greater familiarity of the real-life day to day applications of an Accounting Degree and a better understanding of the importance of teamwork. The firm does potentially look to fill full-time opportunities with our top performing interns at the end of the season.
Must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting.
