Hourly: $21 - $23 per hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Spanish Speaking Intake Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with a major in English/writing, psychology, or journalism. This role involves working closely with victims of trauma, particularly within the Spanish-speaking immigrant community, to gather accurate and comprehensive declarations that will be used for legal purposes. We are looking for a qualified candidate who is reliable, self-motivated and has strong communication/written skills to join our close-knit high performing team. This position requires excellent phone communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of immigration law. The Spanish Speaking Intake Specialist will play a crucial role in helping us provide support and assistance to those in need.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth and sensitive interviews with victims of trauma, primarily within the Spanish-speaking immigrant community, to gather detailed and accurate information, to draft declarations.
- Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach while communicating with individuals who may have experienced traumatic events.
- Draft detailed notes which are clear, concise, grammatically correct manner, and relevant.
- Serve as a bridge between our clients and attorneys who will be drafting final declaration.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all interviews and declarations.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective support system for victims of trauma.
- Maintain consistent and open lines of communication among remote teams and clients using our company's dedicated software.
- Input client information into case management software, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date. Maintain client records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to firm policies regarding privacy and data protection.
- Proactively engage with team members to ensure timely updates, information sharing, and collaboration on projects.
- Monitor and respond to messages, inquiries, and updates in a timely manner to facilitate real-time interactions within the office’s various departments.
- High organizational skills to complete duties in a timely manner and keep on schedule for weekly department goals.
- Thrives in a high-performance internal team environment utilizing your exceptional ability to work independently while knowing when to seek assistance for additional support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Majors in English/Writing, Psychology, Journalism, or related fields are a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of both English and Spanish languages.
- Previous interviewing experience, particularly in gathering personal narratives or sensitive information, preferably within an immigration law firm environment.
- Experience or familiarity with immigration law is highly preferred but not required.
- Sensitivity to the needs and emotions of victims of trauma, with the ability to maintain professionalism and empathy throughout interactions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recording and transcribing information.
- Cultural competence and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the Spanish Speaking immigrant community.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow legal procedures and guidelines.
- Proficiency in translating content between English and Spanish.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Passion for serving victims of trauma and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
- Tech savvy (prior work experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Box, Docketwise, RingCentral, and Monday are a plus).
