We are seeking an experienced T-Visa Declaration Intake Specialist to play a critical role in our legal team. This position requires prior experience handling T-Visa cases and a strong ability to conduct in-depth, trauma-informed interviews with survivors of human trafficking. In addition to interviewing clients and gathering key case details, the specialist will be responsible for overseeing the production of legal declarations, ensuring that contract attorneys meet their deadlines, and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, confidence in holding legal professionals accountable for deliverables, and the ability to build trust with clients who have experienced significant trauma. The ideal candidate is highly organized, assertive, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Interviews & Case Documentation

- Conduct detailed, trauma-informed interviews with T-Visa and other case type clients to gather the necessary information for legal declarations.
- Draft comprehensive and precise case summaries for use in declaration preparation.
- Maintain a compassionate and professional approach, ensuring clients feel heard and supported.
- Declaration Production & Case Management

- Act as the liaison between clients, attorneys, and the production team, ensuring that declarations are completed efficiently.
- Oversee the workflow of legal declarations, ensuring contract attorneys meet assigned deadlines and that all documentation meets firm and legal standards.
- Proactively follow up with attorneys on outstanding work and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaboration & Process Improvement

- Work closely with internal teams to integrate the writing process into the broader production workflow, improving efficiency and accountability.
- Maintain accurate and organized client records in case management software, ensuring compliance with firm policies and confidentiality requirements.
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, legal staff, and clients, providing timely updates and ensuring all stakeholders remain informed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience working with T-Visa cases is required, minimum 2 years.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Previous experience conducting in-depth client interviews, preferably with survivors of trauma.
- Strong ability to manage and hold contract attorneys accountable for timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Experience using case management software and remote collaboration tools.
