What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mascot position at DelGrosso Family of Companies?
Educations & Qualifications : Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Must be able to work in various weather conditions. Must maintain a well-groomed appearance at all times. Must be between 5'6'' and 6' tall to fit properly into costume. Must be able to withstand 50-60 or 80-90 degree temperatures for moderate periods of time. Must be able to be within a semi restrictive environment for 20 to 45 minutes at a time without feeling claustrophobic Must have the ability to read the social cues of guests to understand the level of interaction each guest may want. Must be creative and professional when interacting with guests in non-verbal forms. Must be available to work the entire park season. Ability to work off-season events as needed is preferred, but not required. Must be able to occasionally lift 30-40lbs.
Essential Functions :
- Greet and acknowledge guests by waving, giving high fives, shaking hands, and other appropriate positive body movements. Must have the ability to read the social cues of guests to understand the level of interaction each guest may want.
- Must be creative and professional when interacting with guests in non-verbal forms.
- Inspect and maintain the costume by carefully folding outfit pieces, accounting for all pieces of the costume and properly storing them for travel. Report any damage to the costume upon return.
- Pose appropriately for pictures with guests when requested. Sign autographs with specially designed stampers if requested.
- Attend onsite and offsite events promoting the park and event schedule. Hand out promotional materials at events if necessary. Assist in the set up and tear down of promotional displays and items for events. Off-season events are on an as needed basis.
- Act as a character guide, where you will assist performer in navigating terrain of the environment and direct them to guests to interact with. Offer to help guests with photo opportunities and answer their questions.
- Ability to perform other duties in the Clean- Up department when out of costume.
