Summary:
This individual both guides and supports the warehousing and shipping functions. The primary responsibility is to direct the activities of forklift operators and drivers engaged in these functions to minimize costs while meeting customer quality and delivery expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Directly leading employees in the shipping department by monitoring procedures, and the quality and quantity of production and service.
· Taking appropriate, prompt, corrective action regarding any potential safety hazard; maintaining excellent housekeeping; and complying with all safety rules and procedures.
· Assigning work to subordinates and delegating responsibilities and authority.
· Making decisions regarding the quality of materials and products.
· Daily planning delivery loads and routes.
· Establishing work methods and procedures, and training and developing subordinates.
· Directing employees to ensure accurate billings and inventories.
· Attends regular employee meetings with all crews to review/resolve problems, provide quality and performance feedback, provide training, and work on continuing improvement projects.
· Reviewing the work performance of subordinates and helping them improve.
· Reporting disciplinary issues to the Logistics Manager as necessary and appropriate.
· Implementing quality improvement and cost reduction corrective actions.
· Taking and maintaining accurate finished goods inventories.
· Scheduling future dock times with customers.
· Sending daily warehouse releases to Sourcing partner and Logistics.
· Performing authorized purchasing functions as buying pallets.
· Bidding and contracting freight rates with approved common carriers.
· Maintaining ongoing communications with maintenance, scheduling, management, and other supervisors.
· Meeting or exceeding performance goals as determined with the logistics manager.
· Continually improving knowledge and understanding of business and shipping processes.
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalency.
· Combination of industrial work experience and/or education beyond high school totaling 5 years.
· 1 year experience with shipping functions.
· Certified ability to safely drive a forklift.

· Quality Control Analysis –Ability to identify finished good shipping issues for damage, bundling, stacking and palletizing errors.
· Use tools/technology such as: Tape measurer, sit down forklift truck, box cutter, scanner, Harry Rhodes Management Software.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00
