What are the responsibilities and job description for the Single Face Operator- Corrugator position at DeLine Box & Display?
Summary:
The Single Face Operator is responsible for mounting and dismounting paper rolls, operating the Preheater, Single Facer, Glue Unit, Steam and Condensate systems including staging, setup, operation run, quality and housekeeping. Along with operating/driving the roll cart. Ensures optimal production, quality and safety functions are met in alignment with our internal and external customer’s expectations.
Essential Functions:
· Using the lineup select the correct paper rolls including grade, size and weight. Inspects roll for damage and run ability. Thread paper rolls into Single Facer paper web system using a reel stand. Splice paper as required.
· Drive Roll Cart to move rolls around.
· Activate and deactivate glue level and glue dam controls, bridge roll drive, paper break control, belt spray, belt lifters and splice synchronization systems.
· Troubleshoot production and quality issues and provide corrective action. Make adjustments during runs for tension, alignment, adhesion and warp control.
· Monitor Preheater, Single Facer, Bridge and Glue Unit operations throughout order run ensuring optimal speed and quality of product is achieved.
· Remove paper rolls after production run and place in staging area. Disposition rolls for reuse or recycle. Create load tag referencing remaining butt diameter and quantity and enter into Enterprise System.
· Work with Corrugator Cell Leader and Leads on improvements and recommendations for optimizing setup, production, quality, and safety goals. Communicate scheduling, production, quality, safety or maintenance issues with internal staff if applicable.
· Provide on the job training to trainees.
· Back up other Corrugated positions as needed.
· Coordinate and assist with unjamming machine.
· Oversee and perform basic preventative maintenance duties.
· Oversee and perform daily housekeeping duties including removing residual glue and paper from belt, guide roll, infeed plate and heating cylinder. Clean glue dams and glue pans. Clean measuring roll of dirt deposits.
· Complying with all health/safety rules and regulations.
· Travel requirements: No travel required.
· Scheduled shift: Mon – Fri from 4:00am-4:00pm, with occasional Saturdays.
· Any other duties assigned to help reach company’s goals.

· Troubleshooting - Determining causes of non-conforming board and machine operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
