The Commercial Flooring Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects. This involves analyzing project plans and specifications through the use of key software technologies, gathering data on labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, and developing detailed cost breakdowns. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive and profitable bids are presented.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for all aspects of the project using software technologies to assist
- Research and obtain current market pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
- Develop accurate cost estimates for all project phases, including pre-construction, construction, and closeout
- Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating their proposals for completeness and competitiveness
- Prepare and present cost proposals to management and clients, clearly outlining assumptions and exclusions
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate project budgeting and cost control
- Identify and analyze potential risks and opportunities associated with project costs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry professionals
- Contribute to the development and improvement of estimating processes and tools
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology
- Knowledge of Construction Management and processes
- OSHA 10 certified
