What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Football Coach position at Dell Rapids School District?
Dell Rapids High School is looking for passionate and dedicated individual(s) to join our successful football program as an Assistant Football Coach.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing offensive, defensive, or special teams strategies and game plans.
- Providing instruction and guidance to student-athletes during practices and games, focusing on skill development, technique, and safety.
- Leading individual or small group training sessions for specific position groups.
- Assisting with the organization and execution of practice schedules and drills.
- Evaluating player performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Contributing to scouting opponents and developing game strategies.
- Maintaining a positive and supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Adhering to all school policies, South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) rules, and safety regulations.
- Assisting with equipment management and maintenance.
- Potentially assisting with off-season conditioning programs.
- Communicating effectively with players, parents, and other coaching staff.
- Representing the football program and Dell Rapids High School in a professional and positive manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent preferred.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to effectively teach and motivate high school student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
- Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- Must be able to pass a background check and meet all SDHSAA coaching requirements.
