Debug and drive complex product issues to closure with true root cause and a strong sense of urgency and ownershipPartner and work across organizations and sites worldwide to ensure success in the businessCommunicate status cross-functionally and externally, and to all levels of upper management. Exert influence cross-functionally to meet goals and support the teamWork with suppliers to meet technical deliverables and provide intuitive and innovative solutions. Here’s what we are looking for with this role : Essential RequirementsBS or MS Engineering degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 12 years relevant experience.Architecture, design and product development experience with enterprise server and storage products. Strong debugging skills and the ability to drive complex technical issues to root cause. Strong working knowledge of PCIe infrastructureWorking knowledge of key storage concepts such as SAS / SATA and NVMe. Working knowledge of key system level concepts such as PCIe VDM and I2CSolution level knowledge of firmware, device drivers and server storage management strategies. Ability to operate and debug using protocol analyzers. Strong embedded systems understandingAbility to identify potential product weakness and provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements to subsequent redesigns. Ability to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, test strategies, and documentationDesirable RequirementsUEFI, Windows, VMWare, and Linux OS debug skillsExperience with virtual environments (VMs)Prior experience with high availability storage subsystemsThe position is not a programming role, although solid concepts of high-level programming languages (C / C and Python) is recommendedCompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
