Principal Electrical Engineer-FPGA Development
Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.

You will collaborate with a deeply technical and dynamic team of electrical engineers, as well as cross-functional global teams, to innovate and deliver game-changing products and solutions in our server marketspace.

You will:
- Design next-generation hardware features in partnership with front end teams and industry partners; drive feature and cost trade-off analysis to provide technical recommendations
- Provide design guidance to enable and support global teams
- Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams
- Prepare documentation for inspection/testing procedures
- Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

Essential Requirements
- 8 years' industry experience in related role or have equivalent skill; must include product development experience from early concept through production
- Advanced understanding of PCBA technologies, appropriate system architectures, Verilog/System Verilog and hardware description language (HDL) coding practices
- Proficiency in design, register-transfer level (RTL) design and simulation test benches
- Strong fundamentals in both analog and digital design practices with desire to share knowledge and mentor others
- Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledgeable in x86 and ARM architecture
- Experience with the following: Lattice/Xilinx/Altera tool suites, Verilog verification tools (Modelsim/QuestaSim), scripting languages (Python/Batch), Git repository management
