We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Della Infotech in New London, NH. As a Laboratory Scientist, you will play a crucial role in performing and assessing the validity of qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations used in the analysis, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
About the Job
This is a varied laboratory position that requires high proficiency in testing in all areas of the lab, including phlebotomy, chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, and microbiology. You will be working with automated instrumentation and manual methods to perform tests and examinations, as well as maintaining records of tests and examinations and final results.
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using automated instrumentation or manual methods using established procedures.
- Perform established quality assurance procedures (quality control testing; instrument function checks and calibrations); maintain appropriate documentation; investigate and resolve deviations from expected performance.
- Assess accuracy and validity of obtained test results by applying knowledge of relevant scientific principles; recognized changes that are critical to patient care; identify probable causes for irregular and atypical findings.
- Maintain records of tests and examinations and final results for all record functions and inquiries related to patient care.
- Troubleshoot instruments and resolve technical problems whenever possible; document corrective actions and report problems to the department Supervisor or Manager as appropriate.
- May assist in instructing students and laboratory personnel in the principles and techniques of diagnostic tests and examinations.
- Perform phlebotomy according to established protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree and ASCP certification. A minimum of 2 years of current experience in a similar role is required, as well as high proficiency in testing in all areas of the lab. Additionally, you must have EPIC experience and be proficient in phlebotomy and venipuncture. Travel experience is highly preferred.
Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is $62,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Local travelers who reside within 75 miles of the facility may be eligible for a 10% reduction in rate/hour. The client will consider MLT travelers at a 7BR rate, but preference is given to MT/MLS candidates.
Benefits
This is a temporary assignment with varying shifts and weekends required. The traveler must be available to work Memorial Day and the weekend before, as well as July 4th holiday. RTO requests around these holidays will not be approved. Non-billable orientation time is 0 hours, and holiday and OT multipliers are 1.25%. Call and charge requirements do not apply to this need.
