Delivers effective, elegant, and efficient delivery of technology driven services to statewide customers. Explores new and emerging technologies to support our agency customers' missions. Supports more than 1,100 applications across the executive branch, providing reliable service to critical and essential business functions. Develop and support agencies by managing all physical and virtual technology, including more than 30,000 workstations; over 3,500 servers, and our hybrid and public clouds. Develops, defines, and implements enterprise technology standards and oversees the Government Data Advisory Board to define a statewide data strategy for transparency and sharing of information.

B. Briefly summarize the purpose of this position.
The Senior Solutions Architect is assigned to projects or initiatives that involve a major application or set of applications. The Senior Solutions Architect assumes a technical architecture and people leadership role. The Senior Solutions Architect will lead efforts as an expert and work lead on leveraging technology, innovation, and though leadership to provide scalable solutions to complex and diverse business problems.
Working across the enterprise, the Senior Solution Architect will work to interpret business requirements into detailed specification documents and research and recommend technical solutions that can be applied to business problems; this will require collaboration with other functional groups across the State and often involves presenting to business executives.

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility :
- Bring best in class technologies, innovation, and creativity to the table in developing technical solutions to solve complex multi-dimensional problems.
- Perform a wide range of highly technical and advisory duties associated with the design, implementation and support of OIT Applications solutions.
- Provide technology leadership by architecting, prototyping, researching, recommending, documenting, and assisting in implementing and evaluating technical solutions for business issues whether purchased or developed.
- Interpret business, technical, regulatory, and architectural requirements in researching and recommending solutions.
- Review the accuracy of the release notes and technical documentation through collaboration with the applications development areas.
- Coordinate and monitor OIT technologies for capacity planning, data modeling, integration planning and availability measurement.
- Work with the CISO staff to implement appropriate application security controls across all applications development areas.
- Work with CTO staff to establish standards and disciplined techniques for technical activities like creating new code, restructuring existing code, and maintaining version control and security.
- Develop estimates of the teamwork effort needed to deliver application solutions based on the project specifications provided; report progress to management and project managers as requested.
- Interface with vendor technology / solutions, as well as appropriate involvement of OIT architecture, throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Have ongoing interaction with key stakeholders to advise and ensure that timely, innovative, and appropriate infrastructure and services support agency strategies, projects and outcomes to align with OIT roadmaps, desired future states and overall architectural fit.
- Assign team members to projects and initiatives based on skill set and experience required.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Act as a work lead for translating business objectives and requirements into functional solutions.
- Design and develop technology solutions based on existing technology.
- Lead brainstorming sessions for process improvements.
- Contribute information on Architect and Senior Architect performance in collaboration with the direct supervisor to provide well-rounded and informed knowledge of each individual team members level of competency and ability to complete the required work.

NOTICE : If you are hired as vendor staff who will have access to state systems or data or as a contractor for one of the state executive branch consolidated agencies, in adherence to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-37.5-401, 403, 404, 405, and 406, and Colorado Information Security Policy (CISP) 002, you will be required to self-register and complete information security training, including but not limited to review and acknowledgement of the Acceptable Use of State Data and IT Resource Policy (AUP) (CISP-018), through the consolidated agency contractor information security training site within 30 days of your contract start date and annually thereafter. Should you be awarded this contract, the state agency will provide the contractor information security training site information to you.
