The Medication Delivery Technician is responsible for the coordination and delivery of discharge prescriptions to the bedside of patients. Following a training period, the technician should be able to determine eligibility for and enroll eligible patients in the Meds-to-Beds program, fill and adjudicate prescriptions received, deliver filled prescriptions to the bedside, and capture payment for the delivered prescriptions.

- Gather, review, and interpret information from the electronic medical record (EMR) and from other disciplines (nursing, case management, etc.) to determine patient eligibility for enrollment in the Meds-to-Beds program and enroll them. Once enrolled, technician will ensure ongoing eligibility in addition to gathering insurance information and correct routing of discharge prescriptions to the correct pharmacy. Coordinate discharge medication needs with case management, social work, floor nurses, and at times, physicians.
