Delmarva Corrugated Packaging, a leading independent manufacturer and marketer of corrugated packaging, seeks a Sales Manager to join our team and support the strategic vision and dramatic growth of the business. This role is responsible for the development, execution, and management of sales initiatives, sales volume, and product mix. Span of control includes internal and external Account Managers, Design, and Customer Service. The position reports directly to the General Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor sales volume and product mix • Direct oversight and supervision of all personnel engaged in Sales, Design, and Customer Service functions • Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and estimating - responsible for maintaining and driving profitability levels based on production capabilities and market dynamics • Monitor market changes and support implementation of necessary changes to equipment, personnel, product mix, and product inventory changes as appropriate • Recruit, select, hire, and assist in training of team within span of control • Educate, develop, and motivate sales staff • Collaborate with Finance and support robust credit and collection functions • Maintain personal customer contact with major accounts as necessary and appropriate • Prepare annual sales forecasts • Comply with company policies and procedures • Additional duties as assigned by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise all employees assigned to the departments within span of control. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluation; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; team building; coaching and leading www.delmarvapkg.com employees to improve; addressing complaints and resolving problems; documentation; setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or GED plus related college courses • Minimum five years experience in the corrugated industry • Minimum three years supervisory experience • Minimum five years sales experience • College degree preferred but not required
