Seasonal Grounds Crew Member (Game Day)
The Delmarva Shorebirds, Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are seeking an Season Grounds Crew Members for the upcoming 2025 season. The qualified candidates will work under the Head Groundskeeper and Assistant Head Groundskeeper in performing maintenance required to provide a safe, playable, and aesthetically pleasing minor league baseball field. This is a hourly game day seasonal position.
Start date: April 1, 2025
Job Responsibilities:
- General game day maintenance
- Clay repair mound, home plate, and bullpen areas
- Infield skin / warning track preparation
- Batting practice setup and breakdown
- Edging, Weeding, etc.
- Assist with fertilizer applications
- Irrigation repairs
- Assist with aeration, topdressing, and sod work
- Pulling main field tarp onto the field as well as placing tarps on bullpens, game mound and home plate
Experience and Education:
Experience in landscaping, turf field maintenance or golf course maintenance is preferred but we are willing to train individuals that are hard working, have a desire to learn and take initiative.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50lbs, ability to work long hours (including holidays and weekends), and cope with all types of weather conditions.
Compensation:
$15 Per Hour

Looking for an individual who pays attention to the finest detail to enhance the “look” of a professional facility and takes pride in the duties performed that provide a safe and playable field for its athletes. Must have problem-solving skills and ability to communicate possible questions, recommendations, or concerns to supervisor.
