Visiting Clubhouse Manager
Start Date: March 2025
Position Summary:
The Visiting Clubhouse Manager will report directly to the General Manager on the management and operations of the visiting clubhouse during Delmarva Shorebirds home games. The Visiting Clubhouse Manager must be able to provide high-quality experience for the umpires, visiting coaches/staff, and visiting players daily.
Responsibilities:
· Setup visiting team facilities in advance of the season & break down visiting team facilities after the season.
· Responsible for loading/unloading team buses for team arrivals and departure daily.
· Laundering all team uniforms, personal items, and towels daily.
· Maintaining inventory of groceries, cookware, dugout supplies, restroom/shower supplies, clubhouse furniture and sharing that inventory with the General Manager. All supplies will be ordered and provided by the General Manager.
· Preparing visiting dugout & bullpen prior to team workouts/batting practice
· Working & communicating with the general manager daily to ensure all clubhouse requirements are met daily.
· Ensure clubhouse maintenance and upkeep including trash, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming is completed daily and throughout the day as necessary.
· Make certain all clubhouse supplies including snacks, beverages and other supplies are stocked in full daily. Communication with the general manager on inventory prior to each homestand and throughout the homestand to insure all items are fully stocked and in compliance with PDL health and wellness guidelines.
· Assisting visiting teams with accepting pre & post-game meal delivery. Assist visiting teams with preparation and set up of pre/post-game meals.
· Set up of dugout for early field work, batting practice, and game (includes putting out bubble gum, seeds, towels, water, and Gatorade)
· Provide general support and fulfill baseball related requests from staff and players.
· Provide exemplary service to umpires, players & staff.
· Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of tunnels, bullpen & dugouts.
· On occasion, may be tasked with running errands outside the ballpark.
· Being available to aid visiting teams/staff at any time (day or night) during their stay in Delmarva.
· The visiting clubhouse manager will be responsible for providing the above services for the umpires for each game.
· Other tasks, as assigned by General Manager.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform all responsibilities outlined.
- Ability to work long hours and late nights (expect to stay an additional 3 hours after the conclusion of each game)
- Reliable transportation
- Availability for ALL (66) home games plus potential playoffs (April - September)
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and stand or walk for long periods of time in adverse weather including rain and heat.
- A self-starter with exemplary customer service skills
- Possess superior organizational skills and cleanliness.
Physical Requirements: Extended hours of work between the months of March to September. Candidate must have the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION: The visiting clubhouse manager will be paid $16.00 per hour. Visiting Clubhouse Manager may receive optional tips from players, coaches, umpires for outstanding service.
