Senior SAP ABAP developer

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer specializing in SAP S/4HANA to join our Government and Public Sector team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining SAP solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with the specific needs of public sector management. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP ABAP programming, CDS views, Odata services, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• SAP ABAP Development:
• Design, build, and maintain high-quality SAP ABAP applications.
• Develop and modify SAP modules in S/4 as well as connected modules and systems.
• Perform complex ABAP programming, testing, and debugging functions related to the implementation of SAP modules.
• Experience working on workflows, CDS views, AMDP, Odata services, proxies, data conversion and enhancements.
• Project Management and Implementation:
• Collaborate with project teams to define and review project scopes and timelines.
• Engage with functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet functionality and compliance standards.
• Lead testing and implementation phases to ensure solutions meet quality standards.
• Compliance and Best Practices:
• Ensure all SAP solutions comply with governmental regulations and standards.
• Stay updated with the latest public sector trends and technologies to provide strategic advice on SAP solutions.
• Document and maintain all code changes and customizations in accordance with standard compliance procedures.
• Training and Development:
• Provide training and assistance to other team members.
• Develop user guides and training materials for end-users.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 1 year focused on SRM.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules, especially SRM, MM, and FI.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Experience in public sector projects is a plus but not mandatory.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a high degree of attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills.
• Must live in a commutable distance (approximately 100-mile radius) to one of the following Delivery locations: Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Gilbert, AZ; Houston, TX; Lake Mary, FL; Mechanicsburg, PA; Philadelphia, PA with the ability to commute to assigned location for the day, without the need for overnight accommodations.
• Expectation to co-locate in your designated Delivery location up to 30% of the time based on business needs. This may include a maximum of 10% overnight client/project travel.
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve. This may include overnight travel.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certification in ABAP Development.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Knowledge of integration points between SAP SRM and other SAP Business Suite applications.
• Familiarity with public sector procurement and contracting regulations.
  
  

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 - $171,250 .

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
