Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned professional consulting engineering services firm based in Washington, DC, is looking for a skilled and motivated Resident Engineer to join the team and contribute to a key infrastructure project in the region.Responsibilities : Lead and manage construction meetings with clients, contractors, and construction management teams.Oversee required field testing and ensure proper execution.Ensure project permits are obtained, maintained, and properly implemented by the responsible parties.Confirm timely completion of daily field reports and other progress documentation.Review contractor’s pay applications and supporting documentation for work performed.Attend, document, and track progress during meetings.Review the contractor’s baseline schedule and monitor updates in monthly progress schedules.Assess and respond to submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).Identify contract changes, determine their impact on cost or schedule, and prepare associated requests for proposals and work change directives.Coordinate inspection and testing requirements, and track the resolution of identified deficiencies.Generate and manage the closeout punch list, ensuring timely resolution of defective work and deficiencies during the project closeout process.Qualifications : Minimum of seven (7) years of construction management experience.Familiarity with Primavera Unifier or other web-based construction management software.Experience working on roadway projects in the District of Columbia.Experience in green infrastructure, stormwater, sewer, or other utility construction projects.Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington, DC or able to obtain licensure by reciprocity.Working Conditions : Work is conducted primarily in the field (approximately 90% of the time) in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, humid, and dry / arid environments.Office work will account for about 10% of the time.Some lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required on occasion.Position is based out of the project field office, requiring a five-day per week presence on-site.
