Job Description:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Oracle Forms Developer with strong Java and PL/SQL experience to support modernization efforts. This role is fully onsite and requires hands-on experience with Oracle Forms (not APEX), back-end PL/SQL development, and Java programming. The successful candidate will join an established development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications critical to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle Forms Builder
- Write, test, and optimize complex PL/SQL code (procedures, packages, triggers, functions)
- Provide Java development support for system enhancements and integrations
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define technical requirements
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and peer programming sessions
- Troubleshoot application issues and resolve defects in a timely manner
- Support QA testing and participate in structured testing and validation efforts
- Document code, development activities, and deployment procedures
- Contribute to overall application performance, security, and reliability
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 5 years of experience with Oracle Forms Builder (not APEX)
- 5 years of PL/SQL development with Oracle databases
- 5 years of experience in Java development
- Experience with development tools such as TOAD and Subversion (SVN)
- Strong understanding of application testing and debugging techniques
- Ability to work independently within defined project timelines
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with structured SDLC environments
- Experience working with government or public sector systems
- Exposure to Agile development practices
