Description
GENERAL SUMMARY : Provide engineering and technical services to include but not limited to environmental systems / equipment installation support, test plans / reports, on-site technical / testing support and alteration / repair support services in support of shipboard environmental systems / equipment on US Navy ships.
LOCATION : NSWC Carderock, Bethesda, MD
PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides guidance to Junior Technicians and Naval personnel on the removal, installation, modification, repair and troubleshooting of various environmental systems and components.
- Has knowledge of piping systems / components / fittings / pipe supports, and the processes and procedures required for assembly.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings (piping, electrical), technical manuals and specifications.
- Works under limited supervision and routinely exercises independent judgement.
- May lead and direct group efforts,
- Must be able to travel for shipboard work
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening and obtain and maintain a security badge for all military installations and civilian shipyards
