Civil Construction Estimator
At Delsignore Companies, we believe every project is an important one. You’ll work alongside a professional team of Civil Construction Estimators and Project Managers. We all work together to seek out and locate the next civil project.
Civil Construction Estimator must possess the following skillsets:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction estimating.
- A degree in civil engineering is preferred although not required.
- Show leadership skills
- Must be a self-motivated, self-driven individual. Should possess drive and persistence in seeking out and completing bid proposals.
- Real world knowledge and understanding of the civil construction field.
- Estimating experience in civil construction, with strong skills in reading contract language and preparing competitive bids and proposals.
- Review and analyze plans and specifications to determine scope and identify the resources necessary to effectively generate a bid/proposal
- Provide accurate quantity and earthwork takeoffs as well as crew composition, material and subcontractor pricing. Must be able to provide backup for calculated data.
- Attend pre bid meetings with public and private clients.
- Visit proposed work sites (as needed) to observe construction methods, effectiveness and efficiencies in order to generate an accurate bid/proposal.
- Generate RFI’s for the design team during pre-bid period.
- Interact and work with vendors/subcontractors to generate a complete bid scope proposal, including qualifying the vendors/subcontractor’s’ proposals assuring a full scope of work for the client without missing scope details.
- Should Represent the company in a professional manner while meeting with owner and clients.
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience with PlanSwift Professional and B2W Estimating software is preferred.
