Purpose
The Data Specialist position is responsible for a variety of duties on the Analytics Team both in the MIPS and the Grow. The focus of the Data Specialist is to accurately report production and processing information in both internal and external systems. The Data Specialist is responsible for verifying the accuracy of data entered by the Analytics team. Various reporting duties will be assigned to this position, which include but are not limited to report creation and data aggregation. Additionally, the Data Specialist will provide training to new-hires and Data Techs. This position requires a high attention to detail and an intermediate working knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel. This position provides regular and timely inter-/intra-departmental communication and guidance on facility activities with associates and management. The Data Specialist is expected to operate under the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
Essential Duties
Data Entry and Systems
- Verify, process, enter, and edit data in internal and external systems
- Compile data from primary and secondary sources
- Maintain department data systems
- Assess various performance indicators to identify and correct coding errors
Auditing
- Assist with sheet-to-floor/floor-to-sheet and digital auditing of products in internal and external systems
- Verify harvest batch, production license, and other inventory data against physical packaging labels
- Coordinate with various facility departments to prepare and execute first- and third- party audits
- Develop and implement strategies with Analytics Supervisor that optimize efficiency and quality
Reporting
- Run reports in internal and external systems in relation to facility metrics and programming
- Search internal systems on a wide range of data including but not limited to: plants, packages, labor statistics, testing results, etc.
- Accurately compile, assess, and scrub data to report on facility activities for multiple departments as assigned
- Maintain & update internal documents used by the team
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Ensure that workflow and work procedures are documented and that appropriate controls and audit are in place to ensure data and processing integrity
Other Duties
- Coverage in other areas of Analytics
- Occasional coverage/assistance for data entry in Packaging
- Creation of product/plant manifests and other transfer data, as needed
- Assist the Analytics Supervisor in training new hires and Data Techs
- Assist Cultivation and Post-Harvest with physical and digital processes, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor of the department.
Supervision
- Works under the direct supervision of the Grow Analytics Manager, also takes direction from the MIPS Analytics Manager
- This person does not supervise others.
Job Qualifications
Work Experience
- One to three years experience with data entry required
- Intermediate working knowledge of Google Sheets and/or Excel required
- One year of experience working in METRC preferred
- Prior experience working within CounterPoint or similar inventory tracking system preferred
- Data analysis experience preferred
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of inventory management and adherence to FIFO
- Must be able to secure appropriate work credentials from the Colorado Department of Labor Marijuana Enforcement Division
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
