The Line Dangerous Goods Logistics Attendant is a critical TechOps role at Delta. In this role, you will serve as a tactical part of the team with a strong Dangerous Goods skill set. This role is responsible for supporting the various aspects of the Dangerous Goods Shipping, oversight and reporting as well as mentoring and training others. Additional responsibilities extend to include oversight and compliance support for the entire line logistics system with regards to Dangerous Goods. The Line Dangerous Goods Logistics Attendants in the Distribution & Logistics classification can work independently or lead a team to accomplish tasks, and practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

The Line Dangerous Goods Logistics Attendant is a position where you are supporting live operations to help support maintenance aircraft health and inventory health at a systems level. Operational norms are supporting a team that is working in the elements and driving on the ramp with moving aircraft. A significant portion of the role is computer related functions and systems while working inside a specialized warehouse setup. You will have many opportunities to work with and learn from experienced logistics professionals, aircraft mechanics, and a variety of TechOps Support personnel that support the operation. Under their mentorship, you will develop key knowledge and skills that will help prepare you to advance your career at Delta Air Lines.

The minimum starting hourly rate for this position is $40.47 with a potential maximum hourly rate of $40.47. The ability to reach the maximum hourly rate is dependent upon several other offered premiums (Examples would include but not limited to - Airframe and Powerplant license, Shift differential, Station location differential, Line Maintenance differential, Skill differential).

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • Must satisfactorily complete tests which are structured to determine ability to accomplish the essential functions of the job and the ability to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to read and write English and have a working knowledge of personal computers.
  • Should possess the ability to meet deadlines with high productivity and accuracy.
  • Must be a team player with focus on customer service.
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • (If transferring internally) Must be currently performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Consistently makes safety and security of self and others, the priority.

Willingness Related to Schedule Requirements

  • Must be willing to work a fixed or rotating schedule, including the willingness to work nights, overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended hours/overtime when needed.
  • Must be willing to work in a shift environment where seniority determines shift assigned.
  • Must meet deadlines and manage unexpected changes in a time-sensitive and stressful environment.
  • Must be willing to meet location specific residency requirements where applicable.
  • Must be willing to travel to other cities and stay overnight on occasion to cover stockrooms.

Ability and Willingness Related to Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Must be willing to work in extreme environmental conditions, including extreme heat (over 100 o F), extreme cold (below 32 o F), rain, sleet, wind, and snow.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move heavy objects (e.g., moving aircraft tires) weighing up to 80lbs.
  • Must be willing to perform work in conditions that involve bending, stretching, reaching, or engaging in repetitive movements to complete work activities.
  • Must be able to perform work that requires physical exertion.
  • Must be willing to stand for long periods of time (e.g., up to 8 hours).
  • Must be willing to perform work in conditions that are dirty (e.g., dirt, dust, grime, smoke), which may involve exposure to vapors, fumes, or dangerous substances.
  • Must be willing to perform work in conditions that involve loud noises that are distracting, uncomfortable, hazardous, or make it difficult to communicate with others.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced position that can be stressful.
  • Must be willing to work in confined, tight, or awkward spaces, such as the cargo bin of an aircraft.

  • Must be willing to learn new tasks, technologies, and procedures to keep up to date with the requirements of the job.
  • Must be willing to use technology, such as computers, to accomplish work activities.
  • Must be willing to work in situations with unpleasant, difficult, or discourteous individuals.

  • Must be willing to be a mentor to others.
  • Must be willing to adhere to all safety protocol, policies, and standards, including wearing personal protective equipment when needed.
