HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
Network Planning is seeking individuals to help maximize profitability and ensure that our route network remains a competitive advantage by planning and developing the route network.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, analyze and recommend strategies to optimize aircraft deployment, increase profitability and improve competitive positioning
- Monitor other airline schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate competitive impact
- Identify opportunities to reallocate aircraft from low performing markets to high performing markets
- Organize analytical support to develop strategic plans positioning Delta for future growth
- Have a strong understanding of the department's multiple data sources and technology tools
- Communicate performance information and support executive-level decision-making
- Improve team processes and reporting to increase team efficiency and productivity
- Concisely communicate recommendations to all levels of management
- Work closely with other departments including Revenue Management, Sales and Operations to develop strategies and initiatives that drive profitability and operational reliability
- Act as the primary representative from Delta’s Network Planning department in cross-divisional meetings and conferences, in addition to external audiences
- Lead cross-commercial/enterprise projects to implement complex strategic initiatives
- Coach and mentor a team of technical professionals
- Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Will perform related professional responsibilities as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Aviation field with 7 years of work experience
- Must possess 5 years work experience with strategic thinking, financial and economic modeling / analysis, project management, and oral and written presentations
- Requires 5 years of experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and leveraging resources across all divisions
- Requires 5 years of experience working on airline specific data sources such as U.S. DOT O&D, DDS, MIDT, Financial Reporting, or similar
- Requires 5 years of airline network planning and/or revenue management experience
- Requires 5 years with PowerPoint, Excel, and database querying
- Requires ability to consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and data
- Requires ability to embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
- Experience may be gained concurrently
- Candidates may also hold a Master’s degree in an Engineering or Aviation field with 5 years of above work experience.
