HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
This position in Long-Term Network Strategy is responsible for analyzing, developing, and recommending profit accretive changes to Delta’s network strategy. The Network Strategy Analyst will report to the Manager, Network Strategy.
Position Overview:
- Perform strategic & economic analysis and collaborate on executive-level presentations to inform decisions on Delta’s long-term network strategy, including competitive positioning, city development, hub restructurings, fleet requirements, mergers and acquisitions, and development of our equity and joint venture partnerships.
- Leverage internal and industry data sources to analyze Delta and competitor networks, identifying key insights to improve DL’s profitability while factoring in resource constraints.
- Work to develop skills in the following: financial modeling and benefit valuation, collaborating on clear long-term visions to translate into actionable plans, executive-level presentations
- Develop concise and insightful materials to present analysis, findings and recommendations at an executive level.
- Further the development of tools used within the Network Planning organization, in coordination with other teams in the department

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Willingness to learn the skills needed to support strategic analysis, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Ability to develop an understanding of how to effectively aggregate and manipulate data, combined with critical thinking skills to create and translate analysis into clear insights.
- Skills in oral and written presentation at the senior leadership level
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across divisions at Delta.
- Curiosity and willingness to work on new projects as needed including ad hoc analytical requests.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Excel) is required

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a commercial organization within an airline will be highly beneficial
- Understanding of how to use datapoints to craft a cohesive story and build an executive deck; Ability to learn to transform complex technical concepts into stories for non-technical stakeholders
- Course work in engineering, economics, finance or a related analytical field.
- Willingness and ability to learn about the following: Delta’s network, competitive landscape, revenue management practices or fleet strategy.
