What are the responsibilities and job description for the YouthBuild Construction Instructor position at Delta Area Economic Opportunity?
We invite you to join Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, as part of our expanding Adult Education program. The Construction Instructor will be responsible for teaching YouthBuild Construction courses, preparing program participants for worksite experience and successful job placement. The applicant must be mission driven and experienced in the construction industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares Construction course materials and assignments.
- Instructs Construction courses in accordance with national standards.
- Maintains accurate documentation of program participant performance.
- Evaluates the work of each program participant providing assistance and additional instruction as needed.
- Promotes a positive safety environment.
- Interacts positively with team members and program participants
Education and/or Experience and Professional Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5 year of experience in construction management
- Clean Background Check and Drug/Alcohol Test
- Valid Missouri Driver’s License
Competencies:
- Ability to deliver educational presentations applying principles of adult learning.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with other employees, supervisors and external parties.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information gained as result of position functions.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Mission driven and effective working in a team-oriented environment
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings. Must be able to travel the six-county area occasionally and go out-of-area on a periodic basis.
