Position Information
Position Title Lifeguard Employee Group Temporary Division/Department Fitness & Recreation Center Status
Part-time Temporary position (15-25 hrs/wk)
Position Summary Information
Position Accountabilities And Essential Functions
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion in student, faculty and staff.
Maintain swimmer's safety, prevent accidents, minimize or eliminate hazardous situations; Keep deck area picked up; Respond to emergencies, administer first aid as needed; Record keeping; Assist in pool maintenance; Provide customer service; Help promote programs offered in the Fitness & Recreation Center; Attend all in-service training sessions and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current certified lifeguard - evidence must be provided.
American Red Cross Certification in First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance.
Ability to hear and see cries of help.
Ability to swim 300 yards.
