Reporting directly to the Retirement and Investment Services (R & IS) Compliance Manager, the IRA Auditor assists the VP Retirement & Investment Services and the R & IS Compliance Manager in executing the annual audit plan. The IRA Auditor audits all IRA, HSA, and Coverdell ESA Symitar transactions and paperwork enterprise wide according to the annual audit plan. The IRA Auditor utilizes Business Intelligence / MicroStrategy to build on-demand and recurring reports to identify audit gaps, trends, and areas of risk. He / she is accountable for producing monthly key performance indicator reporting for the IRA Trust division utilized by Department Leaders for results management, performance reviews, and annual goal checkpoints. He / she executes the Medallion Signature Guarantee Approval Request review plan to deliver superior member service and support to Branch Delivery Medallion certified management. He / she assists the VP Retirement & Investment Services and the R & IS Compliance Manager with special projects in support of the credit union's strategic goals.

Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Essential Functions :

  • Completes a post-transaction review and audit of all IRA, HSA, and Coverdell ESA account transactions.
  • Prepares audit reports, detailing audit findings, and submits the reports to the IRA Manager, Trust & Estate Manager, Compliance Manager, and VP, Retirement & Investment Services.
  • Conduct specialized audits and ad hoc reporting as directed by Department Leadership.
  • He / she conducts core system "patch" testing for contribution limit changes and regulatory oversight updates.
  • In a quality control capacity, he / she tests the electronic and hardcopy 1096, 1099R, 1099Q, 1099SA and 5498, 5498SA, and 5498ESA tax reporting prior to release to the membership.
  • Review IRA Team and Investments Team audit and quality assurance data, compile intermediate Excel tables, pivot tables, charts, and graphs.

    Job Qualifications

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

    Required Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of credit union or financial services industry experience
  • Candidate must successfully complete the CIP (Certified IRA Professional) certification within 18 months of on-boarding
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • The ability to identify patterns in behavior and confidence in addressing challenges
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong, effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Professional presentation, positive energy, creative thinker and demonstrated comfort working with senior leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to travel 5-15% of the time within branch network
  • Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, computer information systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 1 years of Medallion Signature Guarantee Stamp program experience
  • Analytical experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Symitar, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, AVAYA CMS, and Harmony
  • Working knowledge of IRAs, HSAs, and ESAs.
  • Demonstrated technical abilities in select areas (audit, accounting, IRA / Trust regulatory compliance, etc.)
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
