The Mortage Closer is responsible for reviewing and preparing mortgage loan documentation related to the closing of residential first and second mortgages. The Mortgage Closer must apply knowledge of Fannie Mae and Delta Community Credit Union closing policies and procedures and federal and state mortgage compliance regulations in the accurate and timely closing of each mortgage loan file. Efficiently prioritizing tasks, consistently meeting predetermined deadlines, and effectively communicating with other Residential Lending team members, third party vendors, and all borrowers are an integral part of this postion.

- Review mortgage loan files to ensure closing will meet specified underwriting approval requirements for Fannie Mae, Delta Community Credit Union, or various industry investors.
- Review and clear any outstanding title commitment items to ensue title accuracy of either first or second lien position as applicable.
- Compile, input, and confirm all monetary information necessary for completion of Closing Disclosure and all pertinent loan closing documents.
- Assemble data necessary to produce closing documents for first and second mortgages and verify data integrity of all closing documents.
- Prepare closing instructions and complete loan pacakge for electronic or overnight delivery to settement agents or borrowers as applicable.
- Initiate and follow up on requests for required documentation such as title report updates, verification of employment, and other applicable documentation required for closing.
- Coordinate timely closing of first and second mortgages by communicating with settlement agents or borrowers.
- Maintain ongoing lines of communication with internal team members, third party vendors, and borrowers by answering questions regarding property title review, loan closing fees, and any closing requirements.
- Ensure specified closing timelines are met on each mortgage loan file.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current procedures, guidelines, and compliance related to federal and state mortgage regulations, investors, and Delta Community Credit Union.

Job Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ work experience in a credit union, financial industry, and/or residential lending.
- Ability to competently coordinate activities with closing attorneys, tile companies, and credit union members to meet predetermined deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- 2 years of mortgage loan closing experience.
- Knowledge of Conventional lending loan programs and various industry investor mortgages.
- Knowledge of Federal regulations including but not limited to TRID, HMDA, ECOA, FCRA.
