Position Summary
Delta Community Supports, Inc. is seeking a Residential Lead Staff role to provide support for our New Jersey-based individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Lead Group Home Staff assists the residential coordinator in supporting the group home's ongoing operations and encourages the continued quality support of individuals served. The Lead Group Home Staff also provides direct support care to people with physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities within assigned residences, ensuring the health and well-being of the individuals they serve and promoting personal independence.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensures effective communication with the leadership team. Ensuring it is known when a home is adequately staffed, including communicating when too many staff are present on a shift.
Ensures the operations of the shift through delegation of key responsibilities on assigned shift
such as:
o Conducting activities and functions for all individuals in the home while incorporating community integration
o Cleaning responsibilities to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy home, including but not limited to cleaning of individual bedrooms, common areas in the home, and outside of the homes and inside of vehicles
o Ensure timely completion of paperwork such as progress notes, incident reports, household checklists, critical issues logs, and other items.
o Assisting, teaching, and supporting individuals in the independent management of his/her hygiene may include baths, showers, oral hygiene, personal care, nail and hair grooming.
o Transporting individuals based on needs to medical appointments, community outings etc.
o Administering and inventorying medications following all established company policies and procedures
o Shopping for groceries, including preparing a list based on the house menu.
o Maintaining and organizing files and purging records as required.
Leads and observes fellow staff in the implementation of clinical interventions and strategies such as:
o Implementing the behavior support plan by following the specific behavior strategies and actions outlined and trained by the Behavioral Analyst
o Assisting, teaching, and supporting individuals in independent management of funds, including money recognition, short-term and long-term budgeting, banking, and bill paying
o Assist, teach, and support individuals in building independent living skills, such as meal preparation steps and skills, laundry steps and skills, etc.
Serves as a role model in participating and promoting a home-like atmosphere by ensuring the tidiness of the individuals home, and creating and maintaining a home environment while discouraging use of the home by staff as a workplace
o Assists the individual to live in a humane, caring environment while promoting quality of life by encouraging independence, aiding in skill building, and integrating within the community toward self-sufficiency and self-determination
Oversee the implementation of the individual service plan through activities including but not limited to monitor individuals in the home and community to ensure that appropriate levels of supervision are followed
Complete required documentation for each assigned individual, including goal training, behavior management, client notes, and medication and ensure other staff are aware of their assigned individual for the shift and complete required tasks as well
In conjunction with the Residential Coordinator:
o Actively participates in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) processes and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) processes, including collecting information, completing assessments, determining baseline data for training purposes, and developing goals and objectives based upon the assessments and modifications to the ISP and Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
o Verifies incoming medications, medication changes, and monthly reordering sheets and immediately reports discrepancies
In collaboration with the Residential Coordinator, manages the creation of the home schedule, ensuring that shifts are filled per the program description. Ensures that coverage is sought that would not accrue or require the least amount of overtime. Communicate promptly and effectively with the residential coordinator when staffing needs to be addressed.
Cooperate with the Department of Human Services staff in any investigation or inspection.
Cooperate with company and regulatory agencies personnel during any inspection or investigation.
Maximize staff development and capacity to advance Delta's mission and values.
Promote and demonstrate ethical and professional conduct at all times, ensuring employees conduct themselves ethically and professionally.
Makes every effort to attend all staff meetings with a requirement to attend at least 8 meetings per month
Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding service recipients and company-sensitive information.
Cooperate with the Department of Human Services staff in any investigation or inspection.
Cooperate with all internal or external audits or investigations as a condition of continued employment.
Comply with Deltas policies and DDD licensing standards.
Perform other duties assigned.
Qualified candidates should possess, at minimum, the following credentials:
o A high school Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
o At least two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is required.
