PIPE LAYER

QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet the minimum requirements for employment:

· 18 Years of age

· 3 years minimum pipe layer / utility construction experience

· Pre-employment screening requirements: pass a pre-employment drug screens and pass a background check (required for some projects)

· Have a phone and be reachable.

· Have reliable transportation to be able to commute to the job. Punctuality is a must

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

· Good communication skills, able to take direction well, think ahead and work efficiently

· Must be able to follow direction, working both independently and in a team environment

· Assist and prepare worksites for laying pipe, measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed

· Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems

· Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers

· Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors

· Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.

· Operate equipment, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes safely is preferred but not required

· Efficiency and knowledge of GPS systems

· Climb and descend ladders occasionally

· Load and unload supplies and materials from vehicle and ensure they are on jobsites as needed

· Perform cleanup operations and perform other duties as determined by project need

· Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

· Conduct self that represents the company in a safe and professional manner.

· Working flexible hours including weekends may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Must be able to lift up to #50lbs without assistance bend, and stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, grip, climb, etc.

· Must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs without assistance.

· Exposed to dirty conditions.

· Position will be exposed to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, concrete and asphalt.

Jobs are performed in outside environment with close proximity to highway traffic, heavy construction equipment and hazardous construction, which may include high spaces

Pay: $30.20 - $32.50 per hour
