What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher position at Delta Constructors?
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for setting concrete forms for; footings, walls, piers, curbs, steps and slabs
- Rebar cutting, bending, layout and tying lines
- Use of finishing tools to include, but not limited to; both mechanical and manual screen systems, bull floats, fresnos, power trowels, hand floats, steel trowels, edger’s, and brooms
- Responsible for achieving the following finishes; flat and level footings and walls, hard trowel (interior smooth finish) and broom finish (exterior).
- Safely operate power tools such as; Skill saw, grinder, rotary hammer, and power chisels
- Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Work Experience: One (1) year experience of civil concrete work

License/Certifications:
- Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge and understanding of concrete placement in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of general carpentry
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of concrete structures
- Knowledge of design, principles and technical plans such as blueprints, drawings and models
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and their applications commensurate to the job
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment use and operation
- Active listening skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects/assignments on time
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations
