Insulator Helper

Position Summary:The Insulator Helper assists the Journeyman Insulator with various duties related to insulation of mechanical/industrial applications.  The incumbent is responsible for staging and managing materials, job site cleanup, insulation of piping, vessels, tanks and architectural type metals and flashing. Essential Job Functions:

• Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces using hand and power tools
• Prepares surfaces for insulation
• Assists with the insulating, covering, wrapping, stapling, gluing, and fitting insulating materials
• Assists with the completion of insulation using plastic covers, sealants, tape, cement and metals
• Other duties as assigned

 Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• One (1) year Insulating experience
• OSHA 10, or ability to obtain upon hire
• H2S, or ability to obtain upon hire
• Take and pass a pre-employment drug test

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Knowledge of general insulation process and methods
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in insulation
• Knowledge of design, principles and technical plans such as blueprints, drawings and models
• Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment used and operation
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects/assignments on time
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
• Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations
