Description:
The Mechanical Superintendent provides leadership to all mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient execution. This role focuses on overseeing tasks such as process piping, complex rigging, demolition, and modifications in active plant environments. This role also oversees civil/structural activities. The incumbent ensures compliance with safety standards, including energy isolation procedures, and coordinates closely with operations to maintain productivity.

Essential Job Functions:
- Project Execution: Manage all mechanical maintenance activities, including process piping, installation, rigging operations, and demolition tasks in brownfield projects.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce safety standards and energy isolation procedures for all maintenance tasks.
- Workforce Coordination: Schedule work activities and manpower to meet maintenance objectives while minimizing operational impacts.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA/QC to resolve quality issues and ensure maintenance tasks meet specifications.
- Change Control: Manage field-level changes and ensure that all modifications are properly documented and approved.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment, including static and rotating machinery.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
- Mechanical Completion: Oversee mechanical punch list items and coordinate transition to operational status.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction management preferred
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record required depending on location
- Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
Work Experience:
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years in the energy or industrial maintenance sectors, with experience in process piping and rigging.
Certifications:
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, NCCER Rigging).

- Take and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Mechanical Expertise: Knowledge of process piping, piping demolition, complex rigging techniques, and demolition procedures.
- Safety Leadership: Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures and other energy isolation practices.
- Team Coordination: Ability to effectively lead maintenance crews and coordinate activities in an active plant environment.
