Description:
The Plumbing Superintendent provides leadership to all Plumbing and Mechanical team members, ensuring product and service delivery meets specifications and deadlines. The incumbent also ensures that all work is done in compliance with standard Plumbing and Mechanical practices and Codes, federal and state regulations and in compliance with employer’s safety policies & procedures.
Pay: $79.90, This includes "Fringe Benefits" paid on top of the base hourly wage
Work Locations: Anaktuvuk Pass, Bethel, Tin City, Alaska
Housing/Meals: Company provided while on site
Schedule: 6-7 days per week, 10-12 hours per day
Rotation: 6 weeks on 2 weeks off

- Responsible for ensuring safe and successful execution of construction activities in their area
- Schedules work activities and manpower requirements to meet established completion dates
- Manages teams through the execution phase, providing a focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule
- Provides safety monitoring / leadership
- Ensures compliance with specifications, procedures, plans and State and National Codes that apply
- Monitors workforce productivities / progress relative to schedule
- Monitors environmental compliance, as required
- Interfaces with contractors, vendors, and Client for field level changes, e.g., scope, costs, etc.
- Controls change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work
- Verifies post-site arrival of procured equipment and engineering equipment.
- Serves as liaison with Client and Engineer as required while keeping Office up to date
- Supervises the plumbing and mechanical completion phase and transition to the final hookup and commissioning phase
- Manages all punch list items outstanding
- Coordinates construction foremen of the general Contractor, subcontractors and Delta Constructors
- Oversee installation, hook-up, and turnover of mechanical equipment scope
- Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department
- Understand sewer, water, heating, and fuel piping systems
- Other duties as assigned
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or Construction Management preferred
- Work Experience:
- Three (3) years supervisory experience
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ experiences in the commercial and or industrial plumbing industry
- Sewer and Water Utility work
- Heating and Plumbing Systems
- License/Certifications:
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
- State of Alaska Journeyman Plumbing License required
- Municipality of Anchorage Journeyman Plumbing License preferred
- Take and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial plumbing and heating systems
- Must be proficient with hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment
- Experience in scheduling crews and managing daily customer deliverables
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability and willingness, to receive and follow direction
- Ability to clearly communicate (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability in supervising and leading others
- Ability to set and balance priorities to complete projects on time
- Ability to and experience with piping, structural and other labor crafts in the commercial and industrial setting
- Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications
- Strong client interface skills
