- Analyzes blueprints and structural drawings
- Adheres to applicable welding methods in completion of structural fabrications
- Utilizes manual and mechanical processes to weld in various positions
- Calibrates welding tools and equipment according to welding procedure specifications
- Cleans and prepare metal work pieces using scrapers, chemical solutions and grinders to ensure a smooth and contaminant-free surface
- Cuts, repairs, and assembles building components to form complete structures
- Inspects and evaluates welds to ensure they are free of defect and adhere to specifications
- Conducts post-welding activities such as grinding, cleaning, and polishing of work pieces
- Other duties as assigned
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience: Two (2) years' experience in oilfield preferred
- License/Certifications:
- Current and valid driver's license
- Post Job Offer Requirements:
- Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
- Alaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination
- Ability to consistently pass and perform acceptable NDE D1.1 AWS field weld inspection and maintain a project weld reject rate of >2% for fillet or full penetration welds in all positions.
- Knowledge of industrial structural welding methods and techniques
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment such as; welder torch, electrode holder, drill press, gas welding and welding electrode
- Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to equipment use and operation
- Knowledge and experience in oilfield operations, preferred
- Ability to conduct appropriate tests to identify and correct faults in framework of structure
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly

- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to type, talk and hear.
- The incumbent is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual Acuity: must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion.
- Work condition is outside environment (job site/field site) that may have inclement weather conditions.
- The incumbent is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
- The employee will be required to work and stay on site during the work rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies including but not limited to attendance and safety.
