What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytics Intern - Summer 2025 position at Delta Defense?
This position is based at our corporate headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin and allows for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Position Summary:
The Analytics Intern will be part of a cross-functional team. This role will provide exposure to various data analytics and business process functions. Engage with various teams to observe, shadow, absorb, and learn how to transform raw/operational data from a variety of sources into a business focused technology solution enabling the reporting of KPI’s, metrics and insights within Delta Defense.
Successful candidates are relentlessly resourceful and can handle complex requests quickly while maintaining a high standard of quality. Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by engaging in a variety of projects.
This is a paid internship. Candidates requiring Visa Sponsorship will not be considered.
This internship requires candidates to live within a commutable distance to our headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role. Summer internship duration runs from approximately June 2 - August 28, 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn to build data pipelines that integrate complex and disparate data sources in order to create clean, tested, and reusable data sets ready for analysis.
- Learn to identify and gather business questions and translate them into visualizations that provide clarity and meaning to our enterprise data assets.
- Learn to incorporate best practice and quality standards meant to ensure data quality.
- Learn about best practices around CI/CD, unit testing, performance and optimization considerations, and enterprise data visualization.
- Create clear and effective documentation as needed.
- Develop an understanding and awareness of best practices related to PII data; adherence to risk policies and standards as set forth by the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Candidates must hold or be actively pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, data science/analytics, engineering, computer science or related field.
- Strong educational focus on business and technology interaction.
- Eager and willing to learn.
- Ability to create meaningful visualizations with data.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to strategically problem solve.
