Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in saw cutting, core drilling, and operating a variety of equipment in construction and demolition settings. This role involves hands-on work, including concrete cutting, removal, and slurry disposal across various job sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. Travel is a requirement of this position, and there are ample opportunities for overtime and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain concrete-cutting equipment, including core drills, slab saws, wall saws, hand saws, chain saws, and hydraulic units, ensuring precise and efficient cuts.
- Utilize additional equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and other machinery to support jobsite tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and measurements to determine cutting and removal requirements.
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials for cutting based on project plans and specifications.
- Ensure proper setup, calibration, and operation of equipment for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on tools and machinery to maintain safety and reliability.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a concrete cutter (required)
- Proficiency in operating various saw-cutting tools and heavy equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, and telehandlers.
- Familiarity with advanced concrete-cutting techniques and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and measurements accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, with a proactive approach to creating a safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications (e.g., OSHA, equipment operation) are a plus.
