About the Job
This position is responsible for Delta Dental’s network recruitment for specified dental networks within New Jersey. Responsibilities include assistance in developing and implementing recruitment, developing relationships with offices, staff and dentists, and reporting any related dental information and recommendations as necessary to the Dental Network Manager. This position represents Delta Dental to the dental community for purposes of participation, network services, recruitment and retention and is responsible for achieving recruitment goals. This position is a virtual and in person position based in Northern New Jersey, with ability to travel within the territory.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting Professional Services Department in developing and implementing dental network recruiting goals, targets, and plans for Delta’s Networks in specified geographic areas of Northern New Jersey.
- Responsible for dental network recruitment including, but not limited to, targeted recruiting, mailings, office visits, follow-up phone calls, and achieving recruiting goals.
- Responsible for Delta networks as it relates to pilot programs or new dental initiatives for participating dental offices.
- Assists Professional Relations department in gathering missing office credentialing/re-credentialing information, educating the office regarding Delta’s programs, proper claims submission, Web-Site information, and making sure the office has up-to-date handbooks, other Delta instructional literature, and all necessary and current signed agreements and contracts.
- Assists in-house credentialing staff in providing and collecting data for measuring and tracking provider status: terminations, additions, holds, credentialing/re-credentialing, conditional approvals and office evaluation results and follow-up.
- Working proficiently in DentalXChange, credentialing platform, to credential & re-credential providers, adding new locations (or network), and keeping provider contracts constantly moving through workflow to ensure completion.
- Working with offices on issues such as balance billing problems, claim issues in NJ/CT as well as other states and understanding and being able to explain national processing policies.
- Maintains network stability by developing positive relationships with dental offices via in person office visits, telephone, Teams/Zoom meetings and conventions.
- Assists Professional Services Department in public relations efforts with the dental community. Including, but not limited to; attendance at NJDA Component meetings and conventions and/or CSDA Conventions, Delta Dental Days, Delta Office Manager Council, supporting other team members, and participating or conducting Delta educational seminars at specified offices or dental meetings.
- Assists as necessary Delta marketing & sales team with meetings, presentations, and service-related calls for key accounts related to network development and credentialing standards.
- Network with dentists, practice management vendors and clearinghouses to improve processes.
- Assist in maintaining data and tracking trends as directed. Identifies process problems and suggests methods for improvement.
- Promotes ECS (electronic claims submission), EFT (electronic funds transfer), ERA (electronic remittance assistance) through education and training to help make the process seamless. This will include the transition to a new vendor.
- Utilize technology such as Outlook, Excel, DentalXChange, Monday.com, SharePoint, to assure efficiency & updates from the DNC’s to the operations staff.
- Efficiently use and manage Excel to maintain data and reports.

Technical and Functional
- Ability to provide excellent customer experience, internally and externally
- Ability to manage multiple issues occurring simultaneously, including effective follow-up on provider inquiries
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the states of New Jersey and Connecticut, including day trips and overnight stays as necessary. A valid active drivers’ license is required
- Knowledge of government regulatory requirements as they apply to dental practice.
- Previous dental office management experience with some management skills necessary
- Must have strong dentist recruitment, contracting and negotiating skills
- Strong oral, formal and informal presentation, and written communications skills
- Strong commitment to work ethic to be able to assume multiple responsibilities while working in a highly independent environment
- Organization and commitment to follow-up communication-this will include managing numerous offices and following up
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Excel
- Experience with DentalXChange, WorkFlow and Monday.com preferred

Experience, Education and Certifications Required
Experience Required
- Experience in the administration of traditional and managed care dental insurance programs.
- Experience in professional interactions with dentists or other medical professionals required.
Required Educational Level
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Certifications required/preferred
- Certification in dental auxiliary training necessary-CDA, RDA, RDH, LPN or RN strongly preferred
