This non-exempt internship pays an hourly rate of $28.00 and is full-time (40 hours per week). Interns are expected to work during our standard business hours, which are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Interns are typically required to work onsite at our Seattle office every Tuesday, with the option for remote work on other days based on departmental needs.

- Engage with internal stakeholders to analyze existing data and identify specific keywords that members find challenging when understanding their benefits.
- Develop insights to inform changes related to the user/member experience.
- Conduct research and analysis by taking a customer-first approach. Baseline key insurance terms, understand legal/regulatory requirements, and develop a proposal leveraging user research insights to address keywords that members find confusing.
- Understanding customer needs indicated by data. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes or projects.
- Support the team by presenting and developing creative presentations with a focus on storytelling, and visual communication.
- Practical experience in qualitative and quantitative research from creating research plans, drafting questionnaires and discussion guides, programming surveys and analyzing results. (Learning the entire research spectrum).
- Use of personas to promote empathy and aid in storytelling.
- User based research to understand and implement changes that positively impact the user’s experience.
- Engaging with key stakeholders to understand the users needs and deliver effective presentations to summarize key insights and suggested actions.
- Building meaningful connections with colleagues, mentors, and other professionals.
- Engaging in workshops, training sessions, and other learning initiatives to support career development.
- Applying academic knowledge to address real-world workplace challenges and deliver results.
- Currently pursuing an associates, bachelors, or master’s degree in Business Administration, Analytics or Marketing.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and drive actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data handling and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
- Experience with SQL, with the ability to write basic queries to support data analysis (preferred)
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to manage and complete work according to set timelines
- Quick learner, especially as it relates to testing and adopting new technologies.
- Displays a high level of accountability by effectively managing tasks independently, meeting goals, and delivering high-quality work while staying dedicated to team objectives.
- Ability to collect relevant information, assess data, and make thoughtful contributions to projects or problem-solving activities.
- Enthusiastic about collaborating with diverse teams, contributing to an inclusive environment, and seeking opportunities for growth and improvement within the internship and organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams.
