In this role, you will collaborate across two teams:
- Mission Impact: Partner with the Chief Mission Officer to support the Board’s DEI Committee, implement leadership learning opportunities, and advance oral health equity initiatives.
- Human Resources: Strengthen company culture, processes, and daily operations to foster an inclusive, equitable workplace across all three Washington campuses.

The pay range for this position In Western Washington varies between $109,000.00 – $155,000.00, and for Eastern Washington varies between $92,000.00 - $132,000.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Leadership and Strategy
- Recommend strategic goals and road map for how WDS/Delta Dental of Washington can address systemic barriers to achieving our vision.
- Design and implement a learning agenda, tools/resources, and evaluation methods for the WDS/DDWA Board of Directors that prepares them to govern with a DEI lens.
- Lead engagement with our Senior Leaders support their DEI learning and commitment and impact for their teams.
- Advise our internal planning and budgeting processes with a DEI lens.
- Liaise with Arcora Foundation DEI leader to learn/share and collaborate on efforts that cross both organizations.
Promoting Oral Health Equity
- Play a central role with our Sales team to implement programs with employer group customers to foster oral health equity for our members.
- Gain deep understanding of oral health equity initiatives across the company to ascertain ways to support their leaders by being a thought-partner and providing resources.
- Advise on external communications related to DEI.
Fostering Diverse and Inclusive Workplace
- Use multiple data sources to maintain and report to leadership a dashboard of the employee lifecycle through a DEI lens, identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to do so.
- Develop and lead strategy for supporting our employee resource groups (ERGs)
- Collaborate with the Senior Learning and Talent Manager to support and provide education and training opportunities for ERGs and all employees.
- Advise on internal communications related to DEI.
- Work with people leaders to build engagement strategies and programs to support building an inclusive culture
Experience, skills, and education do you need to have to succeed in the position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- A bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) and 7 years’ experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities or 12 years of relevant experience with demonstrated growth in responsibilities is required.
- Deep knowledge of the DEI space with experience successfully designing, leading and implementing strategies including analysis of power structures and systemic inequities.
- Experience working with senior leadership teams and board of directors.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness and skills with empathy, caring, assertiveness, supportiveness, confrontation, listening, and group process.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with tact, and to work effectively and respectfully with politically, ideologically, culturally, and geographically diverse people and communities.
- Strong group collaboration skills and ability to work across teams to develop aligned goals and implementation plans.
- Ability to gather and analyze data (qualitative and quantitative), think strategically and creatively, and manage projects and execute initiatives.
- Ability to represent Delta Dental externally and with our members, providers and employees.
- Experience demonstrating high judgment and working with confidential or highly sensitive subject matter
