    Role Overview :

    Delta E is seeking an entry to mid-level Lighting Designer to join our expanding team. In this key role, you will support lighting design efforts across diverse sectors, including multifamily, affordable housing, hospitality, tenant improvements, commercial office, public works, and other markets. You will be instrumental in ensuring the success of each project by delivering innovative, high-quality lighting solutions that enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

    As a Lighting Designer, you will work closely with Delta E"s founders and senior staff, gaining direct mentorship and insight into our company's vision and values. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and developing the foundations of a growing lighting team, contributing to strategic growth initiatives, and establishing design standards that will have a lasting impact on the firm's future. Beyond contributing to the company"s long-term vision, this role offers invaluable industry experience, providing hands-on exposure to diverse projects, and opportunities to develop expertise in innovative lighting design solutions.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Exhibit Strong Communication Skills : Communicate effectively with team members, clients and stakeholders to clearly convey design intent, technical details, and project progress.
  • Collaborate with Teams : Work closely with senior staff, architects, engineers, and designers to integrate lighting solutions into overall project designs.
  • Develop and Present Concepts : Support the creation of innovative lighting designs, renderings, and photometric studies.
  • Perform Technical Analysis : Support photometric and LPD calculations to meet design and code requirements.
  • Specify Lighting Systems : Select and specify lighting fixtures, controls, and systems balancing design, performance, and cost.
  • Ensure Timely Delivery : Support project timelines and budgets, ensuring high-quality, on-time project completion.
  • Support Documentation : Support detailed lighting documentation and construction phase coordination documents.
  • Conduct Site Visits : Periodically travel to attend client meetings, site visits, and project reviews with senior staff, as required.
  • Stay Informed : Keep up with lighting technologies and design trends to enhance project outcomes.
  • Foster Client Relationships : Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree OR an accredited professional degree (preferred within the design industry - i.e. architecture, lighting design, interior design, etc.)
  • Moderate experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Revit.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 2 years of lighting design experience preferred
  • Proficiency in AGi32 or other lighting calculation software
  • Strong sense of aesthetics, composition, and color balance in lighting applications.
  • Understanding of lighting fixture specifications, lamp sources, and controls integration.
  • Experience in producing design drawings, renderings, and visual presentations to communicate design concepts.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Interest in obtaining or already holding a lighting or sustainability certification (LC, WELL AP, or LEED AP).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

    The pay range for this role is :

    75,000 - 105,000 USD per year(Seattle, WA)
