What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Intern position at Delta Health Alliance?
The Summer Camp Intern is responsible for assisting in implementing summer learning-loss programming alongside a teacher. The Intern will co-lead and support instruction (both academics and extra-curricular activities) of school-age students. This position requires a willingness to learn and remain professional in the duties with a positive working relationship with DHA staff and partners. This person be closely supervised and will follow directions of a mentor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrollment in high school or post-secondary education program.
- Ability to follow directions of mentor and carry out duties in a responsible manner.
- Candidate must be recommended by partner program.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance if over 18.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Plan and lead learning projects with the support of other staff.
- Participate in debriefs before and after each project or activity as needed.
- Prepare and clean up plan items for the day.
- Maintain and enter records as directed.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all youth.
- Ensure program rules are being followed.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
- Document projects through pictures and film.
- Actively participate in all projects and games.
- Help with the overall maintenance of the learning environment.
