What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Emergency Department - Days/Nights position at Delta Health?
Under the direction of the Emergency Department Director, delivers quality nursing care to patients on an assigned unit. Assures all patient/family needs are met. Provides open communication within the unit, patients, families, physicians and other units. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures.
- Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room.
- Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system.
- Time management is crucial
- Responsible for moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications and maintaining proper supplies
- Performs focused assessment of chief complaints of each patient in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines.
- Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act
Rotating Shifts: Day and Night
- Must be currently licensed to practice as an R.N. in the State of Colorado.
- At least two years experience in critical care nursing preferred.
- Specialty certification for specialty areas preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire.
- ENPC or PALS required within 6 months. ENPC preferred.
- TNCC required upon hire or within 1 year.
