Role Description
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for performing General Ledger and Fixed Asset functions with a high level of discretion and independent judgement. They will be involved in a variety of tasks including maintenance of accounting databases, preparation of financial statements and reports, and assisting with the year-end financial audit.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following :
Prepare and review accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with government regulations & GAAP standards.
Conduct monthly state sales tax reports and process payments.
Oversee and handle General Ledger & Fixed Asset operations with minimal oversight, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist with the year-end financial audit.
Collaborate cross-functionally in financial and budgeting reporting.
Assist in preparation of annual budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
3- 6 years of progressive public and corporate accounting experience, with emphasis on General Ledger & Fixed Assets accounting
Effective organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
Proficiency working with accounting software and ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial modeling
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A proactive approach to work in a team environment Background check required. This position is based onsite in the Greater Jackson MS area.
