Job Summary

Basic purpose: Check-in and check-out guests, responding to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to create a positive experience for the guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor. Our goal is to build the most friendly front desk team in Kalamazoo.
- Conduct guest's check-in and check-out processes efficiently while ensuring accuracy in guest information, following hotel and company procedures.
- Answer phone calls promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and addressing guest inquiries or concerns.
- Verbally welcome every guest to the hotel and offer a fond farewell.
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to enhance the guest experience.
- Handle reservations and modifications, ensuring all requests are processed accurately.
- Engaged to accomplish the enrollment goal for the Loyalty program.
- Comply and keep up with the trainings required by the brand.
- Handle guest check-ins/check-outs in accordance with hotel credit/cash handling policies in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to create a professional environment.
- Never leave the front desk unattended.
- Provide genuine care to every guest, present and without distraction throughout your shift. No cell phone use within guest view.
- Anticipate needs and provide thoughtful anticipatory service.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest services and address any issues that may arise during a guest's stay.
- Communicate effectively internally, resolving any guest issues swiftly and with a high attention to detail.
- Assist guests in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, etc.
- Perform other duties as needed to achieve hotel goals and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience at front desk.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to read and understand reports and to verify reservations.
- Professional appearance and good grooming required.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Proficient in using computer systems (OPERA) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional guest services in the hospitality industry. Always with a smile.
Physical requirements
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
